Personally I guess there is enough reasonable doubt for me to believe that he's not guilty.

Great movie otherwise, one of the all time best.

I never saw the evidence. Just the unreliable recollections of that evidence by twelve "peers" of the defendant.

Why do you think it's unreliable?

Well, they're just like any other eyewitnesses recalling what they saw. I'll take what they have to say over nothing at all, but think about it... You're basically a jury / judge now trying to convict or acquit based on what twelve random people remember about what other people presented as evidence or testimony.

If that were the evidence actually against a defendant, it would never get to trial.

Fantastic movie. Given the evidence, there is enough reasonable doubt. Not saying he's innocent but reasonable doubt.

Great movie, but I can't recall if anything was stolen from the apartment. If nothing was stolen it's highly unlikely that someone would just barge into that apartment and stab the old dude in the chest for what appears to be no reason. Regardless, given the testimony it would be a tough sell to convict considering that nothing was concrete.

He was guilty.. The chances of him buying the same knife the person he likely stabbed was stabbed with would be 1,000,000 to 1, or worse. Worse, really. Oh, and I'm almost a defense attorney.

The thing of the movie was "He's guilty, but he was treated like total sh*t and was just fighting back."

I think he wasn't black, but was definitely a person of color. So obviously he is guilty.

The movie wasn't trying to say he was innocent of the crime, just innocent in general.

I just watched "The Night Of" of and it was a good example of how something can seem really cut and dry but not be what you expect.

The implication is that there is enough reasonable doubt to acquit him. To ask if he was guilty or not misses the point of the movie. It's like asking if the couple in a romcom stays together "in the end" given their on-again off-again status. The question itself is nonsensical.

Great movie. Incredible, when you consider its place in history. Really holds up too, which is amazing. Watched it again recently in a packed arthouse theater, and it played beautifully, the audience was captivated. Moreso than most of the shit that comes out these days.

And obviously, I can't answer the question in the poll.

I think it's about time for a Gus Van Sant shot-for-shot remake.

movie is so phenomenal, the latter tv remake w/ courtney b vance is pretty legit just b/c it's almost the same exact story

only problem is henry fonda's juror has like the Mentalist/Agent Goren from L&O:CI level of observation and deductive reasoning. How'd THAT guy not get off of jury duty?
