“Resetting” by turning your back and running away - Conor or Overeem, who did it better?

This place is a wasteland of retardation.

It’s within the rules and it serves it’s purpose. If you want to stop it do what Stipe did and go straight after the guy running.

But nah. Conor and Gus are bitches because they take a few seconds to reset in the midst of insanely viscous fights with elite fighters. Cool story from the warrior class of Sherdog.
Dude we all trane UFC and just bleed daily. We are each tougher than the entire UFC roster combined.

Now only if we could find a way out of our mom's basement.

IIRC even Stipe "ran" a few brief times in the Nelson fight. Of course he also outstruck him by a ridiculous amount, so it doesn't stand out in the memory so easily.

I get the hate for resetting but it's a legit strategy.

Gus is a volume striker. He's not looking to trade in the pocket. He doesn't 1 punch ko people. Was he supposed to go blow for blow with Glover? A guy who has dropped people with shot

Conor got walked down by Diaz in the 1st fight and paid for it. Both Diaz brothers walk down their opponents and try to cut off the cage, back them into it, and unload. Other fighters have shown better ways of handling what they do but conor stuck to his skill set and applied the necessary changes to keep Diaz from cutting him off. If Diaz is some cardio monster why didn't he stop conor from resetting? Conor knew he could win the fight if he stayed in the center and he did.

I really got nothing for the reem but a guy that's been dropped that many times needs to do something to save his jaw

My thoughts exactly. This isn't your high school parking lot, there's nowhere to really go, you're still locked in a cage. If the opponent doesn't like it, then do what Stipe did and run the guy down, or taunt, or run the opposite direction. All the running tells me is that they probably don't do any running in training. That's the real lesson, run in your training so you don't get tired and have to run away from the fight in the cage.

Poor Bobish had an eye injury and turned his back when hit by Igor and Big Daddy

combined. 60 seconds out of 25 minutes.

dude was tired.

and each time he did it for a couple seconds then literally went RIGHT back into the exchanges.

60 seconds is plenty of time. You’re making it seem like it’s ok because he didn’t go on a couple of minutes long jog. It doesn’t take long. For him to do it for 60 seconds, it probably had to happen around 10 times. That’s a lot.

Gus was in a full sprint when fighting DC.

Why don't you guys rip on him?

You guys are a bunch of fighter fanbois.

he was exhausted, what's he supposed to do, stand there like a retard? he doesn't have wrestling to fall back on to get some rest like other guys.

he would get away, then get RIGHT back into the exchanges every single time.

wasn’t Gus mentioned on the first page of this thread?

If that’s his last resort then sure, it’s smart. But that just highlights his weaknesses. That’s what we can expect if he doesn’t finish a fight within 2 rounds.

This one doesn't really fit the criteria because he is not running. Josh is just trying to peel off the hands of Yves who has him in a body lock from behind.

Yves has him from behind and gets Josh moving. As he releases and Josh turns to face him Yves releases a brutal kick.

It basicallly started a revolution where everyone wanted to start throwing high kicks when behind their opponent
