“ New California” declares independence

It seems like the states that could be easily destroyed by an earthquake are the states that talk the most shit. Chill out guys, you're vulnerable.

Probably. That and everyone else who is too poor to live close to the coast. Mostly just a bunch of rednecks, drug addicts, welfare recipients and ugly people.
Will new california have the water supply?

Will new california have the water supply?
yeah, but the "old california" has the ports, railroads and every other industry if they wanted to play that game coastal California could make so they don't even have cups to put their water in, a lot of the products that get across the u.s start out in california ports.

Cali should be split between norcal socal and inland.

Cali would be better off if they didn’t have to pay for all the republican trash states down south like Alabama.

With a GDP higher than most countries and the fact they receive some of lthe least federal funding the state would be better off if we instead got rid of all the shit red states down south.

California is awesome but no one giv a a rats ass about Alabama and Arkansas

<3>

There has forever been talk about this part of that part of California becoming its own state. When I was a kid, we talked about Northern California becoming its own state so that we could sell our water to Socal. Then there’s the state of Jefferson people. Now this.

People bitch about regulations hurting the business climate. But what people don’t understand is that along with higher population density comes more regulation. That’s just the way it is. It is that way because people vote for it. And people vote for it because it is necessary when you have so many people living together. It can’t ever be like Texas, where they don’t have much regulation, because in Texas, when a company is disposing of their waste in a river or something, the waste dissipates by the time it reaches the next person to use the water. In California if you do that, the waste is being dumped in someone’s backyard. That’s Just one example.

Well, you’re exactly right about this.

Have you seen Mad Max? Because that's how you get Mad Max.

Dude Toyota moving its headquarters to Texas had nothing to do with environmental regulations. Just assinine business regulations and assinine taxation.

The independent businesses that left Cali had nothing to do with environmental regulations. It was assinine taxation and business regulations.

Someone had been feeding you a lot of bull crap if the first thing that you think of is environmental regulations (in relation to why business of multiple industries and multiple sizes are leaving).

Now how Tesla played California and then built their battery factory in Nevada may be an example of environmental regulations playing a factor.

Coastal California wouldn't stretch to the northern border so the sane, non crazy liberal part of California would be safe.

Pretty soon norcal is going to loos all of its tech companies to socal. Heck Google and other firms are already stating to move down gradually.

Both states would be part of the U.S., but I feel like this would make everyone happy. There has been talk about us here in Florida doing something similar, but it always boils down to revenue splitting... It may work in California though, just because there isn't such a huge difference in the economic sectors as there would be in north vs south florida.

What do you think? Can this work?

If it's what the people of California truly want, then I fully support it.

Only one catch:

We're not changing the number of stars on the flag. If California wants to split up into two states, then California needs to convince North and South Dakota to just become "Dakota".:p

Majority of the state has little in common with the coastal liberals. The state is also huge and north, central and southern have different freaking dialects.

Won't hear people in southern CA saying "hella or hecka"...

This will never happen. I think the guy proposing it just wanted some publicity and he's definitely getting it today.

That's because those people are hella lame.

If they can get the votes go for it. There is a legal way.

Maybe New York will want to follow. With the rest of the state splitting from the city and surrounding area.
