Yes, I mentioned it in the very post you quoted but in the part you didn't include.

As I said, it seems really odd since now Gunn and Disney is still in business to some degree and Gunn's name will be on the upcoming movie (the way these things work I wouldn't be surprised if he got some executive producer credit as well). The logical thing would have been to cut all ties in order to separate themselves from the outrage of the Tweets, or not do anything at all.
