I've always said you must beat the champ to be the champ(decisively). Big Rigg handily beat GSP. Usually, with controversial decisions, you have the group that thought fighter A won, and the group that thought fighter B won. In this case, EVERYONE thought Hendricks won.

This was the worst decision in MMA history.
No. It was a close fight on a round by round basis, and could have gone to GSP.

If you judge by overall damage Hendricks clearly won.

If you judge by who came close to winning the fight it's a draw. I didn't think either guy was ever in real serious trouble.

GSP wasn't in serious trouble in round 2? Come on.

In a year or two, he'll be in the twilight of his career. Some will argue that he already is.

Close to 300k viewers watched KarynBryant's YouTube vid of the UFC 167 post fight media scrum where Dana was very confident GSP would not be gone an extended period and would be in the rotation as normal. He even thought maybe GSP's problems were solved that night when he and Lorenzo talked to GSP right after the post fight press conf.

If he's gone for that long he will be stripped and Hendricks will get what is rightfully his. Then an older GSP coming from a long break gets smashed in the rematch that is promoted with a lot of focus on the first fight of course. Yep, people will care
