If you go by the numbers MJ certainly was a mediocre ball player. But the fact that he was able to basically walk off the street at 30 years old with next to no baseball experience (i believe he played a bit in high school but nothing serious) and relatively hold his own against the best 1% of baseball players in the world is pretty damn impressive. And he was getting better towards the end.
People dont really get how amazing it was that he could even do anything
in the minors. They just look at his mediocre numbers and say he sucked. The reality is though that he was better than like 99% of the population. Even high school stars who who eat, sleep and live baseball never get to AA, let alone do mediocre in it. MJ did it at 30 years old with virtually no baseball back ground.
If Jordan had played baseball from an early age there is no doubt in my mind he could have been a MLB player. Probably a pretty good one. Hell some scouts have said that if he had even stuck with it for a couple more years he might have made it.
