right, and i think thats your agenda - you're mad at the idea that being on the bottom and being stuck means youre fcked (i alluded already that you prob think 'well, if you're on the bottom get up or dont complain' - but as ive tried to point out many times, the bottom guy is fcked if the guy on top is good enough, like a kos or georges

that isn't all judges, but yes way too many don't, and that is the #1 reason we end up with bad decisions.
This is why there needs to be some sort of fighting/training requirement.
How do you really know how close a submission is to being locked in or finished if you haven't had it done to you and felt it.
I know at least one of the guys who trains refs/judges requires people without the background to go through several hours of demos. This is a good start, but personally it needs to be way more.

well, as a beginner who sucks dick at grapppling, i can tell you that this happens to me, and it happens because i get nervous as hell
need to just chill and get experience - guys like jones and mcdonald dont seem to need experience as much as others, it doesnt seem real

Yeah, if you're doing everything you can, including using an effective MMA bottom game, and you still lose, the other guy was just the better guy that night IMO. Condit has a very effective bottom game in my book, but it just wasn't good enough to beat GSP.

right thats true - i get that daley should probably work real hard at this if he wants to be a force - i just dont know if thats possible at this point - i think what we are getting to is the reason why wrestlers with that great base and scrambling ability are the guys who are excelling in mma, as a whole
even the champs like aldo and anderson without ridiculous top control have the footwork to be able to keep the fight in their favor

Maybe it is too late for a guy like Daley. I do hope that the younger guys coming into MMA are watching and learning from the bottom games guys are using effectively at elite levels the in the sport though.

If Torres hadn't been playing the tired old guard game I keep ragging on in this thread he wouldn't have had to pray that judges appreciate submission attempts. I do think he won that fight, but fighters can only control what they do in the cage, not what the judges see.

it comes with time. After you have been tapped out a few hundred times and you get more comfortable, it becomes much easier.
Just remember, gym wins don't mean crap.
You wouldn't believe the amount of high school wrestlers that have the same issue (and many of them are pretty good).
