Good point. I'll admit that I just got sonned. Weidman fans will agree with that statement but I honestly cannot find why he is greater than Jones. I need to know too so that I can defend the Chris better next time. I know this is very awkward. haha...

Same with Aldo. For Cain, well, he is the baddest man on the planet sort of like Fedor years ago. That wasn't a intelligent respond but I guess it's self explanatory.

In comparison to Jones, the same claim can be said about Weidman in a starker view.
Then you should specify physical prime. I and I think others think of prime as "fighting prime". That encompasses age, experience, skill, mileage( a huge one). Etc etc. Age is not the complete deciding factor there.

RE Jones' run. People have forgotten that he had arguably the best calendar year for an MMAist in 2011. There's also the fact that the won the title when he was 23, whereas Weidman was 29 when he beat Silva.

Regardless, both are very impressive runs. Unless his health fails him, Weidman is on his way to establishing himself as one of the best ever in the sport.
with all due respect luke thomas is an idiot. i appreciate him reporting stories but his opinions are retarded. his whole rant on bubba watsons pay was just full of shit id expect from a drunk pre-teen

Weidman benefited from being a larger fighter himself than his respective opponents in terms of reach which helped him in the Silva and Machida fight
im sorry but this is terrible logic

both fought machida

yeah both are bigger than machida but jones is way bigger than weidman and has way longer reach. you cant say oh they both had a size advantage like, hey its "
even stevens" lol. jones is far bigger than weidman. he fought machida at LWH. jones would have a snowballs chance in hell at making MW. weidman fights at mw and has even made MW on short notice

i would honestly take machida over jones in a mw fight

dont get me wrong jones wrecks them both at LHW at this point though

Im not sure how this can be a discussion when Jones beat Machida and Vitor by finishing them and now has 8 defenses

Weidman has had 1 title defense against an older/more losses Machida and came to a decision.
