I HATE when fighters like Aldo, JDS and Fitch grab the fence like that and stuff up a decent TD/Slam.

Immediate point deduction. No need for a warning. They are well aware. Luckily, that didn't influence the fight too much with Maia.
Aldo did it ONE time for fucks sake. You people really need to let it go.

Well he stopped the takedown from it and then KOed Mendes right away afterwards. He still would have won the fight but at least it would have gone to the 2nd round. If it is a rule, don't break it. Especially when the MEndes slam would have been epic.

Even in a situation where the aggressor still has the same position after the grab, their follow up takedowns aren't going to be quite as effective as that first one that their opponent defended by grabbing the cage. Once again, the people on here who don't train are transparent as fuck.
+1.

Guys like that suck.
LOL Thanks for throwing some meaningless statistics at me.
Why don't you actually watch his fights instead though?

His submission of Gomi was an accomplishment, the other SOTN was against some guy who gut cut and retired right after, just saying.

Guida lost both fights he received the FOTY awards for and he literally got destroyed by Diego Sanchez.
He also lost 4 of the 5 fights he received the FOTN awards for, including his 2 "fights of the year" against Huerta and Diego both of which he was submitted in.

So yeah, he might have received tons of awards for jumping around and shaking his hair while his opponents were actually working on finishing the fight.
+ Look at the current trend and don't base your arguments on fights in fucking 2007 in which your boy got submitted.
Guida simply can't keep up with the above average fighters, so instead of putting on a fight, his goal is to score as many points as possible by jumping around and dry-humping from within his opponent's guard.
Good for him, sucks for the fans -> sucks for Dana.
If you actually enjoy his style so much, why don't you order some amateur wrestling matches on DVD instead of watching MMA?

Well it's physics dude. If Maia would have had something to apply the same force to as Fitch did to the fence, it would have been more fair.
Maia could have grabbed Fitch's shorts to pull in the opposite direction but he didn't because it's illegal.
Show me one grappler who can take someone down who is holding the fence who isn't 5 weightclasses below him??

Fitch had gained a huge unfair advantage in that situation by holding on to the fence and preventing the takedown.
Great fighter, can't win by lay'n'pray so he resorts to fence-grabbing in order to avoid his own tactics being used against him.
