If you want to listen to JR talk about what might happen in the main event all night while ignoring everything happening in the undercard, awesome. I for one don't. Neither Goldberg or Rogan are great commentators either but at least they give due attention to the action AT HAND.
Ross was forced to do that stuff via the feed he was being given via earpiece by producers and McMahon. He's stated that's what he didn't like about commentary nowadays and that it's not like it used to be.
