Correct me if I'm wrong, but i don't think "Quebecians" associate themselves with France. Much like how Americans don't claim to be English.

Spent a weekend in Quebec City a few years back to see Metallica play and once more when my band played Evol Et macAdam. I absolutely loved the city! They will get a little pissy at times if you don't atleast attempt to communicate in french, but aside from that it was a beautiful and very nice city. Old Quebec was amazing! Montreal I have only ever been to when I was extremely young. Living on both the east coast and west coast for many years I thought it was a great city. My two cents anyways.
