Or we can go for a TD in the last 30 seconds, or at any other time, a TD that they'll do absolutely nothing with, in hopes of stealing the round.
Cool... give me the flash over the no-reason TD, any day.
Let's see,
Pettis floored Bendo.
Wanderlei nearly won a TKO in the closing seconds of the Bisping fight.
Aldo caught Edgar solid.
Or we can judge fights based on useless TD's that lead nowhere, and little touch'n'go that "true" fans call striking.

I'd only complain if the techniques were being misused, useless, or causing the fighter dumb risks and bad times.
If it works, use it...I cant argue that, and it looks good too, its a fight memory with something different in it, something rarely seen. "Remember that normal punch that GSP gave BJ in there first fight?" - said no one ever.

Pettis kick off the cage on Bendo
Aldo's punch off the cage on edgar
Johnny bones spinning elbow on bonnar
Etc etc....
Oh's! And Ahh's! Sway the judges and make drunkards jump out of their seats.
What a shame

I know, flash is such a new annoying thing. The true old school guys, guys who were around at the beginning like like Saku would never have done dumb flashy stuff.... oh... wait, sorry, that's not true, he did silly shit all the time, and flash has been a key part part of the sport since just about the beginning.
Also worth noting: all three of the strikes you mention were supremely effective strikes. Pettis' kick knocked down Henderson and allowed Pettis to control him for the rest of the round, Aldo's punch off the cage was the most damaging strike of the round, and Bone's elbow absolutely demolished Bonnar, knocked him down and nearly out. So.... yeah....

Maybe but for some reason I don't see the Ebersole cartwheel kick catching on......unless people can land it.
Hitting people with something they don't expect is awesome, Anderson's front kick on Belfort wasn't all that flashy just well placed, and it worked.
