Career longevity in the NFL is performance based like most sports. When you get old or injured, you're done. If you suck you won't be kept on the team because you're popular or because you make funny youtube videos (eg Pat Barry).

Career longevity in MMA is more dependent on how popular you are, how many butts you put in seats. Matchmaking can keep a bad fighter from racking up too many losses.

Also, most cost are assumed by the team in the nfl. How much money does Jon Jones spend each year in training and traveling of all sorts?

Jones is making top dollar in the UFC and with his sponsors and ppv bonuses I'd imagine he well eclipses what his brothers are making in the mid-tier salary range in the NFL.

Arthur and Chandler don't hold a candle to Jon in terms of sponsorship money. He is essentially the face of his sport/organization while his brothers are obviously not in that situation.

chandler will make plenty as a very good, young defensive end.

his signing bonus alone will be over 20 million when the time comes around.
Do you know how a signing bonus works in an NFL contract?
