Um, aggression is not effective unless you're coming forward and LANDING strikes, which Khabib wasn't.
Khabib was the reason not much happened in that fight. I think he was scared of Tibau. He just came forward with his head down windmilling to try to put Tibau on the defensive and avoid strikes, and then grabbed Gleison ASAP to prevent there from being much time to speak of in space. Then he proceeded to go 0 for 13 on TD's. Gleison was 1 for 6.
The fight stats also show that Tibau equaled or out-struck Khabib in every round. I'm not the biggest on fight stats these days, but that's in part because I think the UFC who owns FM uses them to push certain agendas, however I can't figure out why they would favor Tibau in this case. Regardless, those #'s are food for thought for the at least Khabib did something crowd. I'd contend it just looked like it because he was coming forward and swinging his arms in a defensive version of Sanchez and Garcia style.
If you don't put stock in fight stats, what about the media judges? They scored it 5-1 Tibau, with 4 30-27's, 1 30-28, and 1 28-29. To the guy who blindly went to the cliched response that those who thought Khabib lost were "Roganized" again, much of the media is at the events to not be influenced by Rogan. And I'm regularly at odds with Rogan. I watch with the sound down low, ignore him, and mock the absurdity of many of the things he claims are happening. So to accuse somebody like me or the media of being Roganized is erroneous and a major reach of a defense against a scoring opinion you disagree with.
I'll throw those on the Khabib hype train, which is going way too fast right now, that he may have improved, but he lost that fight.
@Ray Zuffo: Thank you @danawhite for the tickets!!
