JDS outlanded Mir 38 to 9 in round 1. Nothing Mir landed was worth jack shit while JDS was fucking Mir up. And I don't care how dominant Brock was in Brock/Mir II; he lost Brock/Mir 1, ffs!
Whatever. JDS is twice the fighter that Brock ever was.
He has great TDD! That's clear from his fights if you have any fucking clue what you are looking at! Are you actually a fan of this sport? I mean, seriously? LOL, this is too funny. I'm not acting like this is a real authority, but here is a headline about JDS from bloodyelbow a while back in case you think this is a new idea: "Junior dos Santos is known for his knock out power, but striking only works in MMA if a fighter is able to stay on his feet. The UFC Heavyweight Champion is an expert boxer, but also possesses some of the best take-down defense in the entire sport." It is pretty much a consensus among anyone who has even an inkling of a fucking idea what they are watching that JDS has excellent TDD. If he didn't, he would never have a chance to fight on his feet where he scores KO after KO.
His TD defense is at 76% according to the UFC fighter page. Also, he is excellent at working back to his feet when he does go down. He stopped a lot of Cain's TDs but Cain is relentless and has 10X the stamina that Brock does. Cain's TD % in the second Dos Santos fight was 33% which is below his average of 40%. In their final fight, Cain's TD% was only 15%! In fact, Cain's take down accuracy would be much better if JDS hadn't stopped so many take downs in their second and third fights. Meanwhile, Cain had a 50% TD percentage against Brock who only had a 33% TD% against him.
Did you notice how quickly Brock wilted against Cain? Well, JDS lasted soooo much longer, after having KO'd Cain once. Cain brutally beat Brock down in 4 minutes where as JDS is 1-2 against Cain over three fights. JDS also went the distance in a 5 round fight against Cain after getting hurt badly early on. Then in their third fight, he was stopped after being spiked on the crown of his head, but not until the championship rounds (round 5). Again, Brock got stopped in 4 fucking minutes, but the fight was already a brutal, one-sided beat down at halfway through the first round.
Mir could clearly box Brock the fuck up if Brock couldn't take him down at will. He has typically displayed some of the worst wrestling in MMA, though, so he was a dream matchup for a guy like Brock. JDS is a nightmare, however.
