I'm more for every fighter being forced to take peds.

Pride was better.

Same here. The guy doesn't make much sense half the time, but it's still awesome to hear some of the old guard talk that old school trash.

But here he is right.
The difference between fighters and athletes is his description.
I prefer pride above any mma nowadays.

Don is occasionally funny, and I have a lot of respect for his career, watched him in his first ufc, and always tried to catch as many of his fights as I could...but, I can tell you that clean fighters, and clean athletes in general, aren't out there (usually) saying that they think there shouldn't be drug testing, or that who really cares what drugs your opponents/fellow athletes are using, unless they are brain damaged or just don't care about their own safety/career...and while that type of attitude may endear them to a certain segment of the population,(the stupid segment) it's ridiculous to consider as a possible way to run a professional sport.

While I do think the sport should be regulated for everyone's safety, I think Frye is talking about the perspective of a fighter. They shouldn't be worried about things like that, if you're the better fighter you will find a way to win. But nowadays we have fighters complaining about being 1-2lbs over, grabbing shorts and little stuff like that. Of course there should be rules, and they should be strictly enforced as well. However it seems like everyone is always blaming something else for the reason they lost: "he was slippery", "he grabbed my shorts", etc. Sometimes these things do have big outcomes on a fight, but as a fighter it's just something that you have to deal with. No one wants to hear these guys complain about such little things.
