I like the smaller cage too. They should definitely do it when the sub 155 guys are main eventing.

the big cage is just so impossible to cut people off frequently if theyre set on avoiding engaging

theres a reason boxing matches arent held on a football field. you obviously dont want the guys to fight in a phone booth, but this seems like the perfect balance where they can circle out of striking range without being able to get on a bicycle

100% agree.. somehow, even matchups that start out boring produce sudden finishes. It's been a recurring pattern since they started using the smaller cage

yeah, when the cage is so big, when guys get hurt, they can just run away to the other side of the cage and then just dive into a clinch if their opponent sacrifices their stance to chase after them. in the smaller one, they can circle, but they cant turn it into a footrace

100% agree.

Small cages are better.

Then when every fight ends in the first round, people will start bitching that the fights end too quick

You mean to tell me that all UFC events are not all in the same sized caged? That seems fucked up to me. That's like if the basketball court were a couple different sizes and it all depended on..... on what? I have a similar problem with main event fights being five rounds. Maybe if the fight is for number one contender, but just random main events like Bisping Le?

There needs to be consistency.

Smaller cages better, though.
