It is always sad to see top fighters fall from grace like this. It makes it very hard not to feel sympathy for them. Yeah, I know that there are a shit ton of fans who did not feel anything for the Nog brothers, Cro Cop or Iceman, but many, if not most, other MMA fans inevitably find themselves attached to these guys somehow when they rise to the top. I remember during the first round of Edgar Maynard 2 we were looking at Maynard so close to getting the finish and thinking "Here it is, the hands down the best LW mixed martial artist in the whole world" and if two of the judges had been just a tad more generous he would have been a former LW champ. And to watch someone like that fall this far is painful, I think, for most of us.
At this point, I am praying hard that now he figures out it is time to do what Fedor did as opposed to ending up like Mike Brown, Iceman or Cro Cop. He may need someone in his life who can force him away form cage fighting and make him understand that he needs to find other things to do with his life.
