Rogers Sportsnet (Canada) - UFN40 (Nog/Nelson) & UFC FightPass Question

Does anyone know what the deal is with Rogers Sportsnet in Canada and UFC programming? They use to advertise themselves as the place to watch UFC in Canada. I think I read somewhere (years ago) they had exclusive rights to be the only station airing UFC in Canada. Is this still true?

It seems lately they are not airing all of the UFC events. While my memory is poor lately (I blame it on having 2 kids under age 3), I think RogersSportsNet missed the recent UFC China event. Or it was a different event they missed.

I do not see the upcoming Ultimate Fight Night 40 - Nog Vs Nelson listed on the Rogers Sportsnet website. Is there any reason why they are not showing this event (and other events)? Or is it possible they will show the event but announce it later (today? tomorrow?).

Lastly, a second question about UFC Fight Pass. Does UFC Fight pass air commercials in between rounds like Rogers Sportsnet does on the UFN "free" events? I find the amount of commercials on Rogers Sportnet quite distracting, and would likely pay the $10 a month to not have to see them, and instead watch/hear the cornermen in between rounds. Id also hope to see the full walk entrances for all fights. If UFC Fight pass was like the PPVs and showed full entrances and no commercial breaks, I think I would pay the $10/month.

UFC China event was fightpass exclusive. Same with Abu Dhabi on April 11.

And yeah its better watching UFC events online because of no commercials. It's much better watching everything that happens in between rounds and all the entrances.

You're correct they did have exclusive rights, however I don't know if that is still in place.

The UFC China event was a fight pass exclusive but did play on Sportsnet a few hours after (perhaps following day). With the addition of Sportsnet 360 they seem to cover a lot more, but like the whole FS/FS1/FS2 you may just be looking at the wrong channel.

I am at a point where I dvr the whole event and ff thru all the non fight crap. Turns a six hour event into 2 ish. But sportsnet will fall in line with Fox 1/2 once their deal is renegociated imo.

Seems like SN360 is the channel with all the UFC content recently, took a while to find.

Thanks for the replies so far. But I still do not know why UFN 40 is not advertised for Rogers Sportsnet (including Rogers Sportsnet 360) and was hoping to get some information on what makes an event broadcast on Rogers Sportsnet or not. It seems inconsistent to me. And I think Rogers Sportsnet has exclusive rights as the only channel to broadcast in Canada (but not positive on this).

Also, can someone tell me what makes this post "wasteland" material? I am not even sure if people will get to read this thread now that it has been moved to wasteland. But according to the forums:

1) UFC Discussion
Discuss UFC, former WEC and former Pride events here.

2) The Wasteland
Pro Wrestling, Fantasy Matchups, Rehashed MMA, Chat threads, etc.

I am pretty sure this discussion is a UFC event type question. Its not pro-wrestling, fantasy, re-hashed (I did try to search for it), and its not a general chat discussion. Its specifically about UFC events on Rogers Sportsnet, and a second question about UFC events on Fight Pass. I only want to know why it has been moved to wasteland so that I do not start other "wrong" topics in the main UFC forum. Thanks!

I think the Nog/Nelson event is a fightpass exclusive.
