That said Lebron, let's be generous and say with 1 year of training, would get fucked up bad by Chris Weidman, let's not even start with Cain.

Takedown -> GnP -> death! It would take Weidman a minute, maybe even less than that. Cain would just look at him and he would probably tap...

Hell, even Roy Nelson (y level athlete) would beat him.
Nelson would re structured Lebrun face, it would actually look nicer

Lebron would have a much better chance at MMA than boxing. Guys like Mitrione and Schaub could never make it in boxing either.
Sapp went well due to his STRENGTH advantage, an advantage top basketball players do not have over UFC champs like Cain. Basketball players make poor wrestlers as a rule. Explosiveness is less important than both strength and endurance in wrestling. Tall, lanky frames a disadvantage (MMA's best HW wrestlers are 5'10 and 6' foot for example). Lebron, if he started training tomorrow, would not be able to contend with Cain in a year.

MMA is not a specialist sport. It is a mix of other specialities, like wrestling, judo, boxing, etc. Boxing or wrestling are specialist sports, that usually contain athletes who have been training that speciality for a very long time.

It's like the difference between Ashton Eaton and Usain Bolt. Bolt is a specialist. Eaton isn't. Rousey came from a specialist sport to a non specialist sport. Isn't it ironic how she is much more dominant in the sport she just picked up, than the one she has been training her whole life? It is much easier to break through in non specialist sports like MMA.
That's a word you made up though.

He got some point though, MMA is a place for martial artist to showcase their art, we saw high level Judoka, Wrestler or Kickboxer more dominant in MMA than their original sport, they also train in only few amount of time. because they mastered one part of the sport, they only need to learn some others to become more well rounded. I agree with that one, what i dont agree is that, a random basketball player can dominate MMA with 6 month training just by raw "athleticism"
