The fans boo all the time when the fight goes to the ground. Even if the fight is standing, they're not cheering unless it's a slug fest. Aldo and Barao were both spectacular last night, Overeem addressed a very big criticism of his, and even though Bagautinov vs Lineker wasn't fireworks, Ali did what he had to against a very dangerous striker. People don't appreciate the tactics that went into each of those victories and it's sad. Aldo is suddenly GSP 2.0, Overeem sucks cause he didn't finish Mir, this sport has the worst fans.
From what I remember last night, the fans cheered whenever a fighter got a takedown. The fans booed when said fighter did nothing to his opponent on the ground, but stall.

Some people like the knockout, some people like the art...

I agree 100% though... Barao, Aldo and Reem all had great performances.

It's not that I cannot appreciate the skill. It gets pretty boring to watch a one sided beatdown that goes the distance. In the case of the Mir Overeem fight, watching, it quickly became apparent that Mir had nothing for Overeem and the beating he was taking to get to the finish line... It was almost pointless for Mir to have even been fighting. He looked like the punching bag a bully uses in order to get lunch money.
