I've never understood why the UFC received a free pass but Bellator was always ripped on for their locked in contracts. They both seem equally bad to me, the only difference is the UFC has more fans and get upset when they can't see said fighter in the larger organization.
I feel like Askren gamed the system beautifully though; as he is making a ton now and when his two year contract ends (unlike most that you get locked into) he'll be a complete free agent again and i'm guessing the bidding war is even bigger the second time around unless he gets upset in a fight.
If he taunts me & tries to goad me into doing something, it's going to work. I will come right after him & if he has an answer for that, good for him. But if he doesn't, he's going to come in second.
