No that's not the best answer. The best answer is because the best fighter doesn't always win. There will always be an easy path. Injuries make tournaments unreliable. 3 wins in a row doesn't always justify a title shot. Matt Brown has 6 straight wins and still doesn't deserve a title shot. Chad Mendes is on a 5 fight win streak still likely a win short of a shot.
You think a system that puts a fighter like Brennan Ward as your #1 contender is a good one.
