Agreed. The man is nearly 40, rich beyond any need of working or buying a lottery ticket, ever, has a great legacy and a family who probably wants him to retire too.
His son is now on record as "wanting my Dad to retire". Show me a father who doesn't submit to that request.
Besides, that would be traumatizing to suffer a leg injury like that. Psychological effects would be prominent too.
I say retire and enjoy life.
