smh @ Vitor. His wins are tainted and he didn't win any belts. Even disregarding that, Browne's wins are better.

Weidman and Pettis both won the UFC gold this year. Weidman dethroned the most dominant champ in UFC history and then possibly retired him in the rematch. Yeah

I say MM looked more impressive. Learning how to finish and stuff. Weidman is clear #2 though

LOL at vitor being foty. That's good stuff. Anyone ripping on chael, but loving vitor "why cant I fight in Brazil" Belfort should be banned.

MM maybe, but Weidman is the most honored by far. No Doubt.

My vote goes to Belfort or posssssssibly Faber. Its tough to call a guy the fighter of the year when half of his wins (1/2) this year were by default.

Weidman certainly had a great year. However, I'm inclined to give the nod to Mighty Mouse. Belfort and Faber are also on my short list.

Personally, yes.

Officially, (are there official awards for these) no. He's had two fights against the same guy, GOAT or not. Both fights went the same way, he definitively won the first round and a crazy strange finish in the second. There are fighters with more definitive and meaningful fights this year, MM singlehandedly legitimizing flyweights in the eyes of the fans, Cain proving he is by far and above the best modern heavyweight, Vitor making his case as perhaps the most destructive force in the UFC, Jones officially breaking the LHW title defense record.

There are a lot of cases, and while Chris's feats are incredible in my eyes, he's got to face a steeper challenge in his upcoming defenses next year, and if he pulls through, I highly doubt anyone can top wins over the 3 Brazilians of Doom.

To me, variety in top opponents and the way it's done matters the most. That leaves Faber, Browne, MM and Vitor. Out of those, 2 have faced 3 ranked opponents. And 1 one of those 2 finished them all and won the only round scored.

No doubt Demetrius Johnson with 3 title defenses and 2 finishes in 2013. If Weidman had won the 2nd fight in a more "traditional" fashion I would go with Weidman but the way it went down there will always be question marks.
