But, incase your serious, I see an in-your-face start to each round to a takedown to a relentless GnP Sonnen bringing to the table a completely different game than Jones has ever faced. If he gets right in the pocket, which he is known to do, it eliminates Jons reach and "spinning shit", in fact, and I could be wrong, I'd think getting so close to him would actually turn his freak reach into a DISadvantage. Plus, Sonnen pushes the pace unlike most others, both Bones and ASilva usually have the advantage of their opponents wanting to wait and test out the waters for a bit, which gives the champs time to collect themselves and get ready. And last, but certainly not least, the mental game, I believe Sonnen is also able to get all sorts of up in Jon's head, especially since they were spending a lot of time together filming a show; that coupled with, as I stated earlier, Sonnen not letting bones get warmed up should make for an interesting combination.

oh i was definitely serious. and your explanation makes sense. in fact i think i heard a sonnen interview where he said pretty much the key to beating jones is pressure and more pressure- most fighters vs. jones are like deer in headlights.
having said that, though, i dont see jones wilting/tiring under sonnen's pressure. but i would really love to see jones on his back- see what his guard/jj looks like.

Same, which is why I placed him in the middle of the list. I didn't say he would win, just that out of those 5 fights that I think he has the 3rd most likely opportunity to win.
Him and Pettis are close, but I'm a huge Aldo fan, so I'm a little bias. Though I've never seen Aldo lose the first three rounds of any fight under the Zuffa banner, and all you need is 3, and no 8-10s subs or KOs, to win.

1 and 2 are about the same as well. Both are a reasonably good chance they could happen, but I see Barao as a much tougher puzzle to crack the Bendo.

I might have switched your 2 and 3 but otherwise agree

i'm a big aldo fan as well, yet i listed pettis over him as the most likely title to change hands.
props for your eddie avatar. but i almost did a double take- that bong looks like a huge dildo rising from his rubber guard.

Macdonald has the best chance to win. I'm picking Barao to win that fight, and will make a vBet on him, but I won't be shocked if Macdonald catches him and wins

Sonnen is going to push the pace right into what? Into the clinch of the maybe the best clinch wrestler in MMA, lol?
What makes you think that Jones won't just take him down and pound his face? Jones is the best wrestler in that division and a better wrestler than Sonnen. If there is anyone who is getting taken down, it's Sonnen. And on the feet--fuhgeddaboudit. Jones will absolutely own Sonnen standing up.
ETA: And the "mental game" means nothing in this fight. Rashad used every trick in the book to "get in" JBJ's head. How'd that work out for Rashad? Rashad still hasn't recovered from the beating he took from JBJ.

in his defense, he doesnt think sonnen will beat jones. i asked him how he thought sonnen could possibly beat jones, and that was his reasoning.
