Agree with this. I think it will take a lot to shift the whole training paradigm. A hell of a lot. But, if it appears that a competent Judo game, can give an extra weapon then maybe.

That rapid positional change from unfamiliar angles, in a way that is hard to counter is very enticing.

With Ronda it is arguably the majority of her weapons.
If Hector shows the value as well then maybe fighters will have to take another look at their training. A few throws will be effective at first, but as it became more familiar a deeper knowledge might be necessary.

When Lombard was facing wrestlers at 185, he wasn't exactly doing amazing, so I think people still stick with their wrestling.

Hector and ronda are both medalists in judo so they have gotten to the point to mastering the art which of course means they can use it as a unorthodox skill. However i don't think some1 with limited training in the area would benefit form it that greatly. If you are a ground specialist and want more tool to get the fight to the ground you may take on judo but outside of that why bother unless your facing an opponent who is a judoka.

one of the highschools in my city, (lafayette, la) has judo as an elective. my wife went there and it is the high school that daniel cormier went to and wrestled at, although they didnt have judo as an elective back then.

That said, and I'm sure it will be trained but I wonder if it will be just a few skills or an equal amount of training to the BIG THREE! (kickboxing, wrestling, BJJ)
Oh dont worry sooner or later Jason DeLucia is finally gonna show us all that MMA effective style of kung fu hes been working on for ten years. Some of you old time sherdoggers might remember when he would still post here and tell everybody about how he would be able to beat bas if he only had one more chance at it. Yeah limited time isnt the reason it isnt trained. It isnt trained because in MMA its useless.
