I was never sold gsp was big enough to beat silva, and most had silva as the p4p number one and bigger man. I couldn't see any way silva was going to compete with Jones, he was going to get gnp out without doubt. And I could never see Jones giving cain a good fight.
And as for Fedor vs lesnar, I would never of even seen that as a super fight. Lesnar was never top level and Fedor is the best fighter in history. It might of sold a lot, but it wouldn't be a super fight for me unless the 2 guys in there were the best in the world.
Pettis vs aldo you have a dominant long time champ (aldo has been champ for as long as gsp and silva when the super fight talk started) vs the best guy in a higher weight division, who has a style that could cause him issues. Add to that I'm not convinced the 2 are too far apart in size. That is everything I look for in a super fight.

All the other potential " superfights" would have been blowouts but Aldo vs Pettis is the most intriguing fight that can be made right now. I don't think anyone could objectively look at that fight and pick a clear winner.

I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave. I will work to elevate you just enough to bring you down.

Save lives and troll the internets on a daily basis? Don't mind if I do.

Pettis/aldo is huge but a fight with jones/silva of jones/Cain would probably be bigger.
There was no topping gsp/silva back then.
Brock vs. Fedor.

HW: Cigano
LHW: Jon Jones/Spong
MW: Anderson Silva/Jacare/Manhoef
LW: Barboza

As far as an actual fight, I think Aldo/Pettis would be better than Silva /Gsp.

As far as sales would go, Silva / GSP would dominate Aldo / Pettis

It's not even close to how big GSP vs Silva would have been. Aldo isn't at their level yet (probably won't be if we're talking interest) and Pettis hasn't even defended his title.

It's also a bit weird since I wouldn't be surprised if Aldo weighs more than Pettis. Aldo is always ripped and cuts an amount that is almost the equivalent of GSP cutting to LW. I have no problems with Aldo fighting at any weight he can make but it doesn't feel quite like the superfight when the guy in the lower weight class is at least as heavy as the other guy. But then again GSP vs Anderson didn't really make full sense either.

GSP vs AS is more thrilling than Aldo vs Pettis, but the latter is more likely as Aldo plans to move to LW and Pettis is willing to fight him

HW: JDS, Big Nog, Cain
LHW: Shogun, Hendo, Gus
MW: Machida, Silva, Franklin
WW: Hendricks, Condit
LW: Diaz, Maynard, Pettis
FW: Edgar, Aldo
BW: Faber

Silva vs gsp could have been the biggest UFC fight ever. This fight is nice and it's great that it can happen but it's nowhere near as exciting as silva gsp
