I think you are pushing it.
People don't see a reson for him to be pushing hard like Aldo & Barao who have fights NOW.

That's a world of difference than you are giving the idea people would rather he sat and did nothing until camp.

it is obvious he is training with those guys. But it is a stupid idea to think he should be at their pace.

There's a reason most athletes train to peak at the right time. Barao & Aldo are doing that. BJ should train enough to be in shape, but not to peak before camp.

No but you can burn out if you go too hard early and BJ's body isnt exactly in its prime

BJ missed the sprints, but his fat ass was in the jacuzzi. WTF?

BJ should be running and doing the conditioning stuff, dont care if he isnt fighting till summer. he is trying to make 145, would be smart to get in shape now nad stay in shape so the cut to 145 is easy.

This.

I don't think people really have an idea of how hard it is to go through a training camp, let alone one at a top quality team like NU. It's hard enough to getting my ass to go to the gym 5 times a week, and asking a guy to do the same S/C as 2 UFC champs who have fights now while no doubt training 3-4+ hours everyday with them already is asking for too much. That's an injury waiting to happen. Also, realistically speaking we have to look at the situation relatively. When's the last time we've seen BJ in this good of shape already/training this hard with his fight not even until summer? It's not fair at all to judge and compare his S/C to that of GSP or Nick Diaz.

Also, getting your S/C for a fight (so long as you've been maintaining/training and not getting fat/shooting movies) for a fighter should only take 2 months MAX to get ready. No point in doing that shit that far out when you should be sharpening your technique/skills.

Noticed BJ not doing any conditioning workouts...Should we be worried?

Aldo and Barao are miles ahead the rest of their division, it's amazing.

How insane would it be if they both move up and take the belt?

IMO it could very well happen, specially if Pettis somehow loses the before Jose moves up.

These were my thoughts exactly. Didn't see much training footage of BJ at all actually.

Yea I think Aldo is a solid favorite over everyone at LW aside from maybe Pettis which is a pick em fight.

Barao I dunno yet though. 145 is a much, much, MUCH tougher division than 135. 145 and 155 are a lot closer in terms of talent than 145 and 135 imo.
