LOL at choosing Barboza #1. He shouldn't even be top 5 with his performances. He should have drawn with Castillo. And he had ko's against the likes of Rafaello Trator and Lucas Martins. He still hasn't clearly beaten anybody better than Terry Etim. But he's muscly and explosive.
Pettis is obviously #1. En route to a championship he beat two top 10's easily and in ways they were thought to be virtually unbeatable at this point.
Really nobody had a great year at lw besides Pettis.
2nd best was probably Khabib with the 3 wins, all clear, 1 finish, best win Pat Healy.
3rd was T.J. Grant with 2 wins, 2 ko's, 1 against an over the hill Maynard, other Wiman.
4th was Bobby Green with technically 3 wins, but really 2 (even he admits that), both clear, over solid opposition in Healy and Volkmann.
5th was RDA with 2 wins, 1 controversial but I thought he got it over Dunham, and another a competitive decision over Cerrone. He had the 2nd best win quality from an opponent standpoint but well down the list on style points.
@Ray Zuffo: Thank you @danawhite for the tickets!!
