Same with his buddy Ellenberger. They seem to work like the common bully. They will run through you if you let them, but tag them or shut down their offense and they become broken, and look for a way out of the fight.
In Mark's defense, he did attempt to take Machida down.

Even he knew that was the only way he could beat Lyoto.

Can't blame him for not wanting to stand and trade with Lyoto Machida. He didn't want to get Bader'd.

Ah the ol daily why is mark Munoz in the ufc but (insert fighter) isn't thread. Mark Munoz fought in a crazy stretch last 3 fights, on top of that he's an easy guy to work with according to reports and will take fights to help the ufc. He fights established guys and younger guys, if he keeps losing yea he will get cut but he's doing everything right to stick around in the ufc currently.

Still doesn't change the fact the man's crowning achievements is losing a bunch of body fat, beating Boestch, and having some of the lowest TD accuracy in the UFC, despite all his accolades and accomplishments in wrestling.

How do you go into a fight and not even throw a strike?

You just described a gate keeper to a T. Which is the role that Munoz fills in the UFC. He's good for testing prospects going forward.

Name me one known Filipino fighter that is currently in the UFC roster and is popular?

YUP.. nobody but Munoz. They need him for the Phillippine market. It's hilarious though because I don't even think Munoz speak the Filipino native tongue.

Every one knows his takedowns are not good. But he has EXCELLENT top control and GNP. He uses his wrestling great when the fight hits the mat.

Also, if Machida is blasting you in the ribs with kicks, you are definetly going to feel it. Munoz was trying to back off and find a range he could fight at and the body kicks are what made him so timid on the feet. He didn't have much time to adjust to Lyoto either since Machida blasted him with a couple kicks to the body and then immediately kicked his head off.

Contrary to popular belief, Munoz is NOT a can. He is a good fighter. He's had some very tough matchups lately and that's why he is on a losing streak.
