He's not a great straight puncher by any means (his jab is pretty lazy and mostly just exposes him to counters like vs. Hominick, except against people he can keep at the end of his reach like vs. Edgar), but his hooks and uppercuts are brutal. Just look at how he smoked Gamburyan with an uppercut after provoking his level change with a "sneaker" jab above the head. Kicks, well... yeah...
I also don't know if it's even possible to throw a "soft" knee either unless it's one of those lazy Forrest Griffin-style knees coming from underneath one's hips with no distance being created for the knee lol.
Interestingly enough Aldo's teammate Renan Barao has a stiff, excellent snapping
jab, but rather poor form in every other punch (yet he swings so hard they're still loaded with power, and otherwise has great kicks).
