UFC or PRIDE?

PRIDE rules, judging and overall production was and is better. If I could choose one id choose pride. but ufc is good too. theres pros and cons. i miss the rules and judging the most.

Also, just so you know, the Decision Dan moniker comes from Hendo winning decisions and titles he shouldn't have based on poor judging. Had nothing to do with boring fights.

Sapp, mirko and Fedor were great, but other then that none of them are significantly better then Cain/JDS 2 or JDS/Mir etc.

Lol, Barnett/Nogueira 1 and 2 are often considered the best HW fights in the history of the sport. You really need to watch some fights man.

I liked when we had Pride an the UFC. I liked how there were 2 orgs that both had talent. UFC has 95% of all top level fighters now. I really hate having one dominant organization and then a ton of shitty small ones.

Bring back Pride or something like it. Then have cross promotional fights. They could easily hype the fuck out of those. Imagine how many tickets Chuck vs. Wandy would've sold if they had fought when they originally called each other out. Thee fighters, fans, and organizations would all win in that case

I kind of liked the production of PRIDE with the entrances and the way they celebrated victories. Of course grand prix were also nice. Of course with the existence of bellator, i dont think the UFC will ever go back to using tournaments unless they add another weight class. A women's tourny might go down after Honda defends her title. It would make sense since she'll need a contender and there isn't much depth in the division.

Sounds like you like boring fights. Elbows cause bullshit stoppages, and the bigger thing is that it allows the guy on top to lay deep down, chest to chest, hitting these very short elbows. It doesn't do damage, and eats up the space from the bottom guy to try anything. Causing much more boring ground battles.

Rules.......No elbows cause of bs cut stoppages.....SOccers kicks and knees can replace elbows any day...Plus the yellow card system help stopped fighters trying to stall...

3hour ppv compared to 4......Pride was longer and better..

They would have fun tournaments and let fighters fight from different weight classes

The UFC in the last years watered down mma and for me made me lose interest....

My thoughts exactly! The yellow card would make known strategy camps (won't mention them) actually fight to win, instead of playing chess.
As for elbows, I only like them standing, as meant in Muy Thai (just a note: Strikeforce only allowed standing elbows). On the ground you nailed what happens. (I want to see fights won by technique, not a bs elbow cut stoppage!) Plus who wants to look like Frankenstein in front of their kids for ever after?
If knee's and kicks were allowed in the UFC, fighters would improve their position so not to absorb them! I think a limit similar to what K1 has with the Muy Thai clinch knee strikes. Allow 2 or 3 consecutive knees/ kicks to the head then mandate either a hand strike or knee/ kick to body, then watch the recipient improve position or sleep.
As for these 3 points stance games being played, it ain't Football. Allow knee's or kicks, I bet he/she will move/ improve position.
Pride had great ideas. Ok, those out there will say look where it took them. But it was premier at times. The crowd respectful, and every fight/fighter appreciated!
I wish Pride matched Wand vs Reem / Rampage vs Reem would have happened. Most of all Chuck vs Wand in their prime!
Bas made it fun. He knew when to be quiet, and enjoy the fight. I mean do we really need to hear every second of what we are watching?

With all that said I wish the UFC would push to adopt Pride FC rules! They should also fly the Pride FC banner making it a company based in Europe and Asia, but not limited. Then twice a year have a Tournament of Champions. UFC vs Pride FC. Champion vs Champion.
