Why did he make such a big deal out of Georges training under Greg? Based on his own accounts, GSP was rarely in New Mexico. So, why all the fuss and bitterness?
When questioned by a fan about why he would “stab a brother” like St-Pierre after he had visited Jackson’s so often, Sanchez responded, “If you call 3 one week visits in 6 years often. I don’t!”
Does he have regret that he never stuck around to fight Georges and has his opinions changed after getting run out of the WW division by Kos and Fitch?
Sanchez for years shouted "It's my time!" but can he put a finger on when that was because a lot of us are confused. The only thing he won was a T.V. show against amateurs.
Diego was 19-0 and 6-0 in the UFC. He was destined to be the next great WW champion. Of course he would be heartbroken and disburbed with Greg bringing in GSP. I don't blame him one bit! I remember those days crystal clear and Diego did the right thing in leaving. Greg should not have brought in GSP when Diego was Greg's guy and the guy that really put Greg Jackson on the mat.
But you do make some valuable points.
Sanchez, BJ Penn, Cain
Wish I could see the BJ Penn of UFC 107 (vs Diego) just 1 more time inside the octagon. That BJ destroys any LW/WW. He came just for 1 night into this world and then left :'(
