"K1 striking" is a joke. As soon as anybody goes over to K-1 and does semi well they have "K1 level striking"...

I agree with you about K1 level striking being a myth. They don't fight for much money and they're not great athletes.

About Schilt though, unlike Overeem, he wasn't beat up in a kickboxing match by the guys who beat him in MMA. They all took him down immediately.
Even Fedor, who "beats people at their own game", wasted no time in taking Schilt down ASAP.

Overeem has never been a volume or speed puncher. He waits for one shot at a time then clinches or turtles up and waits for the barrage to end. He gets away with it in K1 because the gloves are bigger. Plus he intimidates a lot of opponents by being so much bigger.
