I don't think so but there is no way of anyone really knowing. We haven't seen him in there fighting. We'll know in time. First fight back may not be the best indicator. With this comeback I hope he remains active. Hopefully also he'll prove to not be past his prime.

I would say on average fighters peak between 27-32. This is when they are at their best physical peak of speed and strength combined with training and experience to make the best of that.

In boxing there is a term for a fighter that burns out early in their career, usually due to taking too much punishment in too many wars. They term is a "shot fighter". Erik Morales is a great example of this. Tons of amateur fights, great professional fighter through his 20s that fought in many great wars. By the time he was 30 he just looked like a shell of himself.

I think we havent seen a lot of this in MMA because there are just not that many wars like in boxing. And very competitive fights are a mix of grappling and striking, not just constant head shots. At the same time there does seem to be a trend towards stand up wars, and with 4oz gloves i have no doubt we will start to see guys fading younger and younger.
