The saddest thing is that he thinks we give a shit about her... And that she has haters because he is succesful and all of that.

Poor girl. I feel bad for her.

So I appreciate the hard road you traveled Shayna. If I felt like it taught you any humility or respect for those coming after you I might be a fan. As it stands I'm indifferent at best. I am sure I'm not alone.
Well said.

i will say one thing, social media is what kept the sport alive, so she shouldn't be too upset with the keyboard warriors, those people made her dream come true.
you know nothing, and neither does she. educate yourself, and not from delusional chicks like Shayna.

Origin of 'MMA'

The term Mixed Martial Arts was coined by television critic Howard Rosenberg, in 1993, in his review of UFC 1.The term gained popularity when the website, then one of the biggest covering the sport, hosted and reprinted the article. The first use of the term by a promotion was in September 1995 by Rick Blume, president and CEO of Battlecade Extreme Fighting, just after UFC 7.Jeff Blatnick was responsible for the Ultimate Fighting Championship officially adopting the name Mixed Martial Arts. Previously marketed as "Ultimate Fighting" and "No Holds Barred (NHB)", Blatnick and John McCarthy proposed the name 'MMA' at the UFC 17 rules meeting in response to increased public criticism. The term is generally attributed to Howard Rosenberg.
The term MMA was around before she even knew what it was

The intro animation to this site from 2000:

Where you could buy "MMA DVDs" after clicking on the "MMA Stuff" link ;P

And visit the "Sherdogs MMA forum" where one can ask how Bruce Lee would do in 'MMA'.
