Wow, that definitely minimizes the difference, the overall first impression seemed much worse

You know I just realized that Overeem didn't take as big of a hit in his physique as I thought. That one weigh in pic is just not "photogenic" so to speak. Poor lighting, he's not as tanned, poor angle, and he's not flexing.
Still looks like Ubereem. Maybe a SLIGHT bit more body fat but it's not as bad I originally thought.
EDIT:
Nvm seems like everybody beat me to it.

In the hypothetical scenario you just proposed, Overeem weighs 280 and cut 16lbs of water, which he will replenish by fight time tomorrow. Against Lesnar, lets say he weighed in at 263 with no cutting.
That means that today's version of Overeem in this scenario would have weighed 17lbs more than he did against Lesnar, assuming similar levels of hydration! Now read this a few more times and let it sink in before replying, because what you are saying is flat-out mathematically incorrect.

You keep bringing up a water cut, but it has nothing to do with this discussion. Overeem was a pound heavier and had considerably more fat on him, that means he lost a significant amount of muscle, and replaced it with fat. If he cut 16 pounds of water this time, and last time he cut nothing, then that means he gained like 25 pounds of fat instead of the 10 I'm assuming. What we're comparing here is the amount of fat Overeem had on him at 264 here, and at 263 against Lesnar. How much weight he added from hydrating is irrelevant. The point is he was a pound heavier here, so if he had any more than a pound of fat extra on him, then he lost muscle and gained fat, and clearly he did.

Also, there are many anabolic steroids that will help to lean someone out; Winstrol, for example. Overeem appears to have a much higher bodyfat, perhaps as much as 10% higher, though I'm no expert on the subject. Nor steroids, for that matter.

The same i was going to say, the anabolic steroids help you to build muscle but also to loose fat, theres a great hormone chance when you use this substances.
