yes, yes you should. Because like GSP he mentally broke BJ. Rory could have finished BJ at anytime, but like he said he respected BJ's experience. That was actually smart on Rory.

I think making another professional fighter, and a legend at that look like he would rather be washing dishes at Applebees rather than being in the Octagon is considered a beatdown.

Applebees, mmmm who wants Riblets

Short answer: No.

None of Rory's wins have been impressive. He fights lightweights, or one dimensional fighters. Its also quite noteworthy that his most challenging matchups always take place in close proximity to his hometown.

Bottom line is that the UFC is coddling him.

I don't know BJ didn't mount any kind of offense the entire fight. I thought BJ would at least out box him for the first round like he always does.

Yeah, we should be impressed. It was an impressive, dominant performance. Should we act like this was against a Penn anywhere close to his prime? No, but BJ still has decent skills (no longer elite), and, to repeat, it was very dominant.

Of course we should be impressed. Rory is a very young who is showing a lot of promise and improvement with every fight. He beat the brakes off BJ. Be impressed. Don't be pathetic and sit there making excuses for his success.

Diaz gave Penn one of the worst beatings of his career and Rory beat him worse than that. It was impressive but it was against a fading legend.

I was impressed with his striking techniques & fundamentals. His timing & selection was also fun to watch. BJ is usually pretty solid with his jab, despite any issues in his way whether they be cardio or his opponent. However, he couldn't even get his jab going in this one. I've never seen anyone dismantle BJ in that fashion. BJ had success against Diaz, even in rounds he was losing. I can't remember a moment in any round where I thought to myself "BJ is getting some traction now." Now, I don't see this as a high quality win for Rory in terms of the 170 top ten picture but its a nice feather in the cap if you will...

Yes, to say otherwise is ridiculous.

Rory is the future, but he's going to lose to Carlos. May the betting odds forever be in my favor.

Toodles.
You are right. People give Rory too much credit for his fight against BJ. Truth is I won't be as impressed as all of Rory's fanboys unless he can beat Condit in the rematch. I don't see it happening. Does have potential to be a good fight with lots of fireworks though. I got Condit winning it though.

I'm not. He beat a guy who doesn't belong at that weight class and is probably near retirement.
