He was the last on my list. In my defense he took Chuck down a lot in the first fight, outwrestled Gonzaga easily, took down Brock and took down Barnett easy before gassing.

It was a different time where they didn't think so much about "Get the takedown for points"

I'm of the belief that he probably didn't stop guys that often, because he didn't care if the fight went to the ground.

I may be way off on that assumption.

That's says a lot. I can see why this was wastelanded.
It's wastelanded because it's fantasy and opinions. The best measurement for how good your MMA wrestling is, is MMA wrestling. Hughes got taken down a lot compared to everyone else on my list. You can make you own list and I encourage it, please don't just criticize without presenting your own idea/ideas.

That maybe true but I can't factor in what they are thinking. I'm just looking at 3 main areas, takedown success rate, TDD rate, and how well they scramble and Hughes came up a bit short in the TDD for me. I don't have a problem with other people having him in there top 10 though as he was very close to taking someone else's spot.

Good points, I was thinking about the Vera and Big Nog fights where he got outwrestled which made me pass him up for one of the other guys on my list. I would have Couture and Hughes as 11A and 11B, they were very close to making it for me but it looked to me that others have more effective wrestling and their titles aren't a factor to help elevate that.

A little surprised just because he had such a quick double. Tbf though Diaz of all people did stuff him a bit. Also are these stats all time or just UFC fights because its has to be hard to have good wrestling stats against people like Hughes, GSP, penn, Edgar.
