This is a HUGE card for the bantamweight division- obviously we have the champ barao still on his mass winning streak- the #1 guy at 135 lbs in the WORLD defending his title, coming off vicious silva/aldo-esque finishes, the guy looks incredible, one of two men to ever dispatch urijah faber AND repeat the feat, He IS the undispitued champion right now.
TJ Dillashaw has shown some good momentum with recently reboundig from his second loss in the UFC by outpointing Mike Easton, after beig closely outpointed by raphael assuncoa, another of the division's top contenders. Dillashaw has FINISHED the likes of Issei Tamura, Hugo Viana and Vaughan Lee in his UFC career.
We also have at bantamweight Takeya Mizugaki and Francisco Rivera both making their way toward a title shot, and a win for either will mean being spoken among TOP contenders and future title challengers- in my opinion, whether this fight is a WAR or a vicious finish, as long as it is not slow-paced and 'stifling' to the energy of productive GROWTH of the sport of MMA, the winner will be one fight away or GRANTED a title shot. The fight will be a great lead-up to the main event of the night, and i'm really looking forward to the event.
Also can't wait to see Henderson/Cormier , Varner/Krause, Fergusen/Kikuno... many great matchups here-
We also have FOUR undefeated fighters on the card, and i'm anxious to see who can hold it together.
