You don't see them pulling out of wrestling matches all that often, in fact they almost never miss matches because they got injured in training.

One thing that greatly increases the likelihood of getting an injury while training is overtraining. If an athlete is overtrained his muscles, tendons, and ligaments do not have adequate time to recover from one workout to the next. So what happens is there is trauma to the muscles in training which can cause micro-tears and such in the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. When there is adequate recovery time, these micro-tears heal and the body compensates by making the muscles bigger and stronger so that the body is adapting to a higher workload or intensity. This is the principle behind weight training. You put a stress on the muscles, tendons, and ligaments greater than what the body is accustomed to and that is what stimulates growth in strength and size. But this growth occurs in between workouts. It's while the body is resting that the body is able to make itself stronger. The workout is what stimulates growth and rest is when the growth happens.

If there is insufficient time allowed to recover from workouts and then grow as the body is adapting itself to the greater demands being placed upon it, then there isn't time for the body to recover and repair itself from the previous workout.

Yeah, multiple gym sessions a day and over 12 week training camps are too much. The UFC could set out guidlines for training too.

Training is the most dangerous part of any sport. Combat sports, football, basketball, the actual event is the easy part.

They can't stop people from doing trt, but yes... Monitoring the sparring of all your athletes at the same time is totally possible. Are you thinking shock collars or something? I'm confused.

And I know, my sarcasm is not appreciated.
