And here are 23 media sources with only one duplicated for a total of 24, 18 of which have scores attached. Your media scores for Jones are laughable considering that other journalists from some of those same media outlets happened to score it for Gus and not Jones (ie. Bleacher Report, Bloody Elbow & MMA Mania just to name 3). Not to mention that the 49-46 scores are a complete joke. Jon Jones himself admitted that he lost 2 rounds (1 & 3), meaning, even he does not agree with those "overly generous" scores on his behalf (he only agrees with the 48-47 score, 3 rounds to 2).

I challenge anyone to find me two dozen or more EUROPEAN media scores from different outlets for Jones. I used almost entirely AMERICAN media sources that scored it for Gus (who is a foreign, European fighter and not American).

Back to the topic, Thiago Silva & Rumble do have some things in common. They both have plodding footwork that isn't very good, they both have big KO power and like to exchange in the pocket, and they both are stocky and muscular in body type. They also fight heavy and are robotic in movement. Both can also wrestle reasonably well (Thiago showed this against an experienced Greco guy and Muay Thai stylist in Brandon Vera). While they are still quite different in many aspects, with Rumble definitely being a better fighter, some similarities still remain.

Gustafsson hurt Thiago early in that fight (in less than 30 seconds he dropped him) and then cruised for the rest of the fight, which was only scheduled for 3 rounds. He still ended up outstriking Thiago 3 to 1 and getting a takedown. The Gustafsson of today would've killed that version of Gustafsson from 2012.

I don't care about any of these reasons. People on these boards constantly complain about weak cards. These same people better not be the ones wanting Gus to sit out for god knows how long.

Let's be honest, sitting out for a title shot never works out. He should just fight instead of wasting his prime sitting on the shelf.

(We already have Cain and Pettis)

1 fight in 2013. (Loss to Jones)
1 fight in 2014. (Win vs Manuwa)

Earliest he could realistically fight DC/jones winner is summer 2015
But that could easily become 2016 if DC wins since he has a torn something in his knee (LCL I think, long rehab as I recall)

Yay a champ that fights once a year.... Fucking exactly what we need... Go that guy!! Woohoo!

And really TS? Rumble is a completely different animal than Thiago... Drop that nonsense, it kills your credibility

He's a lot more professional at least

1. He has already beaten the champ (in his and many others' opinions). There's no question in his mind that he can beat Jones again, and he believes he can do it in a less controversial way. So why would he want to take another fight when he knows the belt should be his?

2. He basically beat a carbon copy of Anthony Johnson. There's no reason to think that a fight between Gus and AJ would go any differently than the fight between Gus and Thiago Silva, who is AJ's (in his words) "main training partner".

So what's the point in seeing Gus beat AJ the same way? We know what's going to happen, so no need to see this fight.

3. Risk of injury.By that I mean either risk of injury (and further setback) to Gus OR risk of pre-fight injury to Cormier, whereby Gus would get the call to step in.

I know it's important to stay active and all, but the negatives far outweigh any potential positives here, if there even are any.
1. Jon Jones, unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49,46). The only call that matters.
2. I don't have words for that stupidity
3. Unless he plants his ass on the couch eating pizza, he's probably training which means he's always running the risk of injury.
