He actually did worse than I thought he would've or maybe he was just outclassed by a better fighter.

About what I expected tbh. Dude has serious power and can threaten anyone in the division with it, but Gus is just too much for him too handle at this point. I kinda was expecting a sub though.

he did worse than I thought he would. ...even the punches he did land seemed poorly thrown to me, not very accurate at all. i haven't seen many manuwa fights prior to yesterday so was expecting more from the hype he was getting

Not saying Manuwa isn't the real deal, but the logic "fighter X is legit because he looked decent for a while against a great fighter Y" has proved to not work on several occasions (Kazujuki Fujita vs Fedor, Nakamura vs Shogun etc), where the fighter later has been extremely lacklustre against opponents of lesser quality than the ones they previously faced.

Gustafsson has shown that he can be abit sloppy in the standup and almost get caught, but has been saved by his chin on a couple of occasions against shogun and now against Manuwa (he connected at least once with a power shot). I wouldn't really hype him because he lasted a round against Alex...

He was decent, solid top.7-10 material imo. He deserves some opponent of that caliber next to proof that.

I didnt have much expectations for him. I didn't think this fight should have been made. He hasn't fought competition that warranted him getting Gus. A lot of people thought it was just a gimme fight for Alex and that's exactly what it turned out to be. It was made so Gus could get in a fight but not be in serious jeopardy of losing out on a rematch with Jones. Plus Manuwa is 34 years old and I don't expect him to get a lot better.
