This. Even if you think that Silva VS Weidman is 60-40, you have to be dumb to think GSP/Serra wasn't a bigger upset.

There wasn't even a 3rd fight even though it was 1-1!!! Everyone knew Serra had nothing for GSP, including Serra himself. I was a complete fluke.

Anyone here thinks that a 3rd fight between Silva and Weidman won't happen if Weidman loses?

While people keep arguing that GSP isn't a dominating champion because he doesn't finish, this at least prove that a flash KO in the first round is perceived as less dominating than a KO in the 2nd round after winning the first round. Time matters to prove you are the better fighter.

With Weidman he was taunting and taunting and Weidman would not bite on Anderson's time. Instead he stayed patient and picked his shots when he saw openings.

Anderson is used to guys taking that bait and rushing in recklessly. Not only would Weidman not bite, but he clowned Anderson back Diaz/Penn style and got Anderson to whiff on his punches.

The "trick" Anderson didn't try against Weidman was to punch or kick him and go for a finish. I never said I thought it was a fluke, just than Anderson's non-performance diminished the credit Weidman deserves. That has obviously led to people saying it was fluke or saying that Anderson threw the fight. He has acted silly in the past, but he's also been an absolute killer. I want Anderson to fight like he did in the Sonnen rematch in December.
Anderson did try to punch and kick Weidman. THe issue was he was could not time Weidman or get his range and him not landing his shots on Weidman and Weidman was landing his on Anderson.

The issue was that Weidman was throwing Anderson off his game by clowning and taunting him by leaving himself wide open and still dodging Anderson's shots.

When you fight better finishers then Bonnar and Forrest this is what happens.

Hate to say it but this sums it up and should have put an end to this thread. Silva/Weidman 2 is a toss up fight.

Anderson fought a lot of fighters that didn't pose a threat standing. He got used to being able to taunt and be reckless on the feet. How many standing KO's do Forrest, Bonnar, Sonnen, Maia, Leites, and Okami have? He could taunt them but for some reason thought the same of Weidman's standup. He should have fought Chris like he approached Vitor and Hendo while still respecting his takedowns. Tough to do. Hindsight is 20/20. Weidman is just so damn well rounded and dangerous everywhere. I don't think Silva realized this. He saw him as strictly a wrestler/grappler.

Pretty much this. I just want to see that version of Anderson in the rematch. Despite what the new Shertard Weidman fan club says, Anderson fought much worse than he has in the past. That doesn't mean that Weidman was bad, just that Anderson could have been much better. Weidman would get much more credit for beating Anderson if his hands were up, his chin was down, and he was attacking physically rather than with taunts and clowning.
