Had he measured his training appropriately, he could have had a greater career IMO.
ACL injury > sholder sugery I guess as we saw Shogun was out for much longer afterwards and was much more able to close the distance standing in the rematch.
Anyone can claim an injury or illness held them back, I only tend to believe it if I see real evidence in the cage/ring. I see very little difference in Forrest, perhaps because as you point out he withdrew from a lot of fights when injuried, so basically fitness issues limated his career length but not his performances.
