Julius Peppers would have introduced Moose to a whole new level of athlete. 290 lbs, can run a 4.8 40-yard, gets winded climbing a flight of stairs, never thrown a punch in his life. Training with that type of animal would have enabled Moose to literally break every bone in Machida's body.

Punching, kicking, and grappling are for garbage athletes. Deadlifts, highjumps, and benchpress= TRUE athleticism.

That's why all those ex football players go on to dominate in fighting when their careers are over...

Wait, are you implying that Allen screwed the training of his partners Couture and Bader on purpose (and without them noticing anything odd) because he wanted their opponent to win just because he is a Shotokan guy?
Without getting any reward from Machida's camp for his treachery, just because of "Shotokan pride"?

C'mon. What kind of trainer publicly declares before a fight, in an interview, that his guy's opponent is his "favorite fighter ever"?
He also went on and on about how good Couture was at karate. LOL.
I'm not saying he "screwed" them. Of course not. He seems like a great guy who means the best.
But there has got to be a conflict of interest.

Allen is clearly from that segment of Shotokan guys that loves having one of his guys doing well in MMA, not from the other half that criticizes Machida's technique.

Had nothing to do with reward. He's not that type of guy. He just loves his Shotokan and enjoys seeing Machida validate it.

Allen is an awesome practitioner himself, just amazing, but his heart lies with the Shotokan man.
