I could see Palhares winning a straight grappling match but I wouldn't pick against Alan in another MMA fight.
I didn't say it had no merit. And also if you think Belcher 'easily' escaped his leg locks then you know nothing about grappling. He was in serious trouble (and pain) a couple of times.
He did a great job but basically was playing with fire for 4 minutes. It made the fight hella exciting and I give him full credit for it. In a grappling match with no possibility for gnp I don't think he would do so good.
