Cyborg is not in the UFC because she didn't take the contract offer.

Holly Holm isn't because she has beat nobody amd wants a 6 figure contract. When thetr are a dozen more accomplished women in the UFC.

Wow a mma fighter got punched in the face, that must mean they have horrible head movement. If a fighter can't avoid punches like Floyd Mayweather, they have no business striking at this level. Give me a break. Holly Holm is a good fighter and hot, meaning she'd be just as marketable as Ronda Rousey if she won a title. I can see Dana's aversion to Cyborg. First off, she got popped for roids, which is ridiculous for a division as uncompetitive as the women's. Regardless of how good someone's striking is, they're going to get thrown to the ground like every other pure striker to enter the UFC against a top level grappler. Top level grapplers who can setup their takedowns with forever dominate cage fighting until the end of time, so all you purists might want to stick to K1 to avoid the butt hurt.

If you are a big name fighter with movie deals, title fights, and million dollar sponsorships, then yes, you could benefit from a manager. Managers at the low level are worthless. They convince their fighters to hold out for larger contracts up front (contracts they can get a percentage), which usually results in exactly what Dana said. Whoever is managing Holm right now sure as hell won't be managing her if she ever hits the big time. Hopefully someone else she trusts clues her in on this and what this person's motives are, because they definitely realize this. They have no problem continuing to get decent small show deals that they can keep banking on. The only manager you need if you are a "normal" person is an attorney, so you can at least understand what you are signing. If Holm wants to become Rousey, all she needs to do is sign and win a few fights.

Not happening. Her manager is Lenny Fresquez - the boxing promoter that's been with her for years and runs the entire show including promoting cards headlined by her and hand picking her opponents. Basically Holly Holm is his entire business. She's not the average young MMA propect. With Fresquez, she's not coming into the UFC without a guaranteed title shot and 6-7 figures.

Surprised he's not going the M-1 route and asking for co-promotion.

Saying a fighter "almost won" or had a "near win" is akin to saying someone "almost" or "nearly defused a bomb"
