If you are a big name fighter with movie deals, title fights, and million dollar sponsorships, then yes, you could benefit from a manager. Managers at the low level are worthless. They convince their fighters to hold out for larger contracts up front (contracts they can get a percentage), which usually results in exactly what Dana said. Whoever is managing Holm right now sure as hell won't be managing her if she ever hits the big time. Hopefully someone else she trusts clues her in on this and what this person's motives are, because they definitely realize this. They have no problem continuing to get decent small show deals that they can keep banking on. The only manager you need if you are a "normal" person is an attorney, so you can at least understand what you are signing. If Holm wants to become Rousey, all she needs to do is sign and win a few fights.
