Machida was losing the stand up in Round Two before the takedown and elbow. He may have actually been rocked before the takedown by a Jones' right hand (at 2:30 of the 2nd). What really surprised me about Machida (particularly in the 2nd) was how inaccurate he was with his punches. He was swinging all over the place and Jones was able to avoid.
First, Weidman doesn't have the length JBJ does. Also, JBJ won the standup in that round before the takedown by switching stances to close distance(something Weidman most likely won't be able to do). Also, Machida has improved his offensive game and defensive game since the JBJ match.
